ical-recurrence: pin the whole recurrence set, not just its size Comparing the number of distinct starts to the number of instances is satisfied by dropping both of the colliding instances, and by dropping everything, so it cannot tell a fix from a regression on its own. It also says nothing about which of the two ends survives, which the RFC does settle: the period-valued RDATE is how the duration of one instance is modified.
